Happy Valentine’s Day to all you Star-crossed Lovers

Yay Hooray! After only 250,000,000 hours of development time I finally have a decent looking and functional operating weblog system in place! Yes, I know Kubrick is the default theme now (Thank goodness!). This fact alone probably saved me several hundred hours. I plan on fooling around with the CSS a bit to attempt to customize things, but we all know what happens when I do that! Interweb Chaos!!

In closing, I’d like to give a shout-out to my new webhost DreamHost for making all my Internet Dreams come true! They even have a Control Panel option to install a WordPress blog for you. Totally cool. You should sign up for DreamHost and tell ‘em Matusiak sent ya.

Okay, I’m getting off the computer now, but I hope to be writing more soon. After all, that is what I went thru the trouble to set up this weblog for (and the sub-domain and the…).

Woo hoo and welcome to Wordpress! The new 1.5 is so fucking awesome that I moved my whole static website and my blogger blog onto one WP install. I still have to upgrade Orange Politics which is on WP 1.2.

BTW, has anyone taken credit for recruiting you to Dreamhost yet? I think I must have told you about it last week at the celebrity blogger fashion show… er, I mean the Chapel Hill Blogger Conference..

Hey Ruby! Amen to WordPress 1.5! Much like my McDonald’s-only diet, “I’m lovin’ it!!”

In regards to Dreamhost recruiting, I had been asking folks for recommendations for several months. Then at the beginning of 2005, I sent a message out to InterNetWorkers asking for opinions. I got several followups in support of Dreamhost and zero recommendations for other hosts. Within a few days I was cranking along with my new Dreamhost account… and yes, Lovin’ It!!

When filling out the form, I listed Evan Z as the referrer because I got his reply first. However, I don’t know if the system ever registered the credit to him. Hmmm… I’d better go ask.
